9:30 Coffee Break: DEVO
February 19, 2014

The music world mourns the loss this week of another founding member of Devo - guitarist Bob Casale died yesterday of complications from heart surgery. Last year, original drummer Alan Myers died after a long battle with cancer. Devo was one of the most original bands of the 70s and 80s - punk and new wave pioneers who combined humor with outrageous costumes and cultural satire, and who did it with catchy, memorable songs. Casale was eulogized by his brother and fellow Devo member Gerald as "there in the trenches from the beginning - my level-headed brother, a solid performer and talented audio engineer, always giving more than he got."
Let's put together a block of Devo today to honor both Casale and the late Alan Myers. What Devo tunes would would you like to hear?
