Every Monday at 8:30am StarTribune sports writer Michael Rand stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Sports.

Today Michael Rand chatted with The Morning Show's Jill Riley and Steve Seel about:

1) We all worried about the Twins' offense, but so far so good. The team is averaging more than 6 runs per game heading into Monday's home opener and their 3-3 record is downright decent. Also, manager Ron Gardenhire won his 1000th career game over the weekend.

2) The Gophers won the NIT title and the Badgers lost in the NCAA Final Four. I'm not sure which one made Minnesotans happier.

3) The Gophers women's basketball team is expected to hire Virginia Commonwealth coach Marlene Stollings as its new head coach. She has a lot of ties to the current U of M athletic administration.
