9:30 Coffee Break: Songs Nirvana Covered

April 08, 2014

Nirvana heads to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 10. The band is also on our minds because 20 years ago today the dead body of Kurt Cobain was found after the lead singer's suicide, which happened on April 5, 1994. We've been playing songs from the band a little heavier than usual over the past week, but we thought we'd view the group through another lens today.

What is your favorite song from another band that was covered by Nirvana? They covered many songs over their tenure as a band, and we want to put together a playlist for the 9:30 Coffee Break.

Do you want to experience a Coffee Break with Jill and Steve? We'll bring The Cactus Blossoms and treats from The Freehouse to your job the last Friday of the month. All you need to do is email: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org

Songs Played:

David Bowie - "The Man Who Sold the World"

The Vaselines - "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam"

The Vaselines - "Molly's Lips"

Leadbelly - "Where Did you Sleep Last Night?"

Meat Puppets - "Plateau"

The Shocking Blue - "Love Buzz"
