Friday Five: Lizzo, Bomba de Luz, and more new Minnesota music videos

by Andrea Swensson

June 20, 2014

Happy Friday! Keeping things short and sweet today since I have Rock the Garden brain. And Rock the Garden brain is just what I needed to put together this week's Friday Five, since the first video is from the woman who will be kicking things off tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 p.m...

Lizzo

With her debut album, Lizzobangers, getting a big European re-release this week on Virgin Records, Lizzo dropped this dazzling video for her single "Bus Passes and Happy Meals, " which comes complete with a blinged-out happy meal box and a fly dude dancing with a lion in the desert.

Bomba de Luz

Mark August 5 on your calendars now. That's the date when Bomba de Luz will drop their new album, Ember, which features this slow-burning single "Be Minor."

Web of Sunsets

Web of Sunsets have a couple of new things out this week: The video for "Wildflower," a song from their debut full-length, plus a new cassette-tape EP, Gin Tapes, which they will celebrate tonight at the Eagles Club.

Leisure Birds

Visual artist Matt Visionquest gives Leisure Birds' latest the digi-trip treatment it deserves.

Charlie Parr

Duluth blues guitarist and songwriter Charlie Parr gets a close-up in this 30-minute doc from Wisconsin Public Television. (Click the photo to be taken to the video on WPT's page.)
