Every Monday at 8:30am StarTribune sports writer Michael Rand stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Sports.

Today Michael Rand chatted with The Morning Show's Jill Riley and Steve Seel about:

1) The MLB all-stars have been picked, and Glen Perkins plus Kurt Suzuki made it for the Twins. The game is a week from Tuesday in Minneapolis. One name you don't see there: Joe Mauer.

2) Saturday was the 75-year anniversary of Lou Gehrig's retirement speech, and much of the history was on display because the Yankees played the Twins at Target Field.

3) A Major League Soccer player took a selfie during a game after he scored a goal Sunday. Are we ok with this?
