July 14th is often thought of as France's Independence Day. More accurately, it's the French National Day -- called La Fete Nationale in French -- commemorating the day in 1789 when crowds stormed the Bastille, a fortress used as a prison in Paris. The event marks the beginning of the French Revolution.
To celebrate Bastille Day we're going to play French musicians (they don't have to be singing in French). Who do you want to hear?
Songs Played:
M83 "Don't Save Us From the Flames"
Serge Gainsbourg "Ford Mustang"
Air "Sexy Boy"
Edith Piaf "La Vie En Rose"
St. Germain "Rose Rouge"
Daft Punk "Give Life Back to Music"
Prototypes "Je Ne Te Connais Pas"
