MPR News Arts Reporter and Cube Critic Euan joins Jill Riley and Sean McPherson (in for Steve Seel) to talk about two new summer releases.

The first is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A former buyer of the comic books, Euan admits he's kind of disappointed with this film. "Everything has to be bulked up," Euan says. "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look like they should be working for the WWE. They're not quite as cuddly as they used to be."

Megan Fox and Will Arnett star; the film is rated PG-13 and is playing everywhere.

Into the Storm, meanwhile, is about a small town in the middle of nowhere that is set upon by a mega-storm.

"In the first five minutes, you know what everyone is going to do," Euan says. "The characters are stock. But the special effects are spectacular. It gets bigger and bigger and more ridiculous. Do see it in the theater with the Atmos Dolby Sound, where you're getting shaken — it's pretty cool."

Into the Storm is rated PG-13 and is playing everywhere.

MPR's Movie Maven, Stephanie Curtis, joins The Current's Morning Show to talk about films every Friday at 8:30 a.m.
