Coffee Break on the Road: Droolin' Moose

This month for The Morning Show's Coffee Break On The Road, our taste buds got a real treat. Droolin' Moose, a gourmet chocolate purveyor headquartered in Bloomington, submitted the winning entry - and while they promised us we'd be sampling some of their stuff, I'm not sure Jill, Jade or I were quite prepared for the intense chocolate smorgasbord that awaited us.

It was nearly impossible to narrow our favorite concoctions down to even three favorites each. I think Jill ended up crowing the "Rustic Blues" her favorite (sweet blueberries covered with milk chocolate), while I suppose the "Salty Bogs" (Creamy caramel covered in salted milk chocolate) were mine - but it was sure hard to pick.

Young local band Hippo Campus joined us for a musical set for the Moose's staff, and blew us away with their sweet pop-craft and virtuosic playing.

Our heartfelt thanks to the gracious folks at Droolin' Moose for welcoming us into their office and store, and for fueling us with more chocolate during our stay than a person probably ought to consume in the course of an hour. By the time we left, we had a hearty coffee-and-chocolate buzz (augmented by the wonderful breakfast treats we brought along, provided by Gigi's Cafe), and the sense that good chocolate truly does make the world a better place.
