MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jill Riley to talk about a new mystery thriller starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is based on the popular novel of the same name, written by Gillian Flynn.

Directed by David Fincher, Gone Girl centers on Nick Dunne (Affleck), who reports that his wife, Amy (Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a happy marriage begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Stephanie contrasts this film with War of the Roses and with Fincher's Zodiac. "I didn't enjoy [Gone Girl], but it's worth seeing," Stephanie says. Listen to the full audio above to hear the complete conversation and film review.

Gone Girl is rated R and is playing at theaters everywhere.
