9:30 Coffee Break: Blood Moon
October 07, 2014

If you are an early riser you are in for a special treat tomorrow morning. Just before sunrise Wednesday morning the second, and final, total lunar eclipse of 2014 will take place.
During the eclipse, the moon will appear a coppery red, so it's been called a "blood" moon. The red color comes from all the sunsets and sunrises from the Earth that will reflect onto the lunar surface. (During the eclipse, although it's completely in the shadow of Earth, a bit of reddish sunlight still reaches the moon.)
To prepare you for tomorrow morning's blood moon we're looking for "blood" songs for today's Coffee Break. What should we play?
Songs Played:
The National - "Bloodbuzz Ohio"
The Smithereens - "Blood and Roses"
Eels - "Fresh Blood"
U2 - "Sunday Bloody Sunday"
NONONO - "Pumpin Blood"
Get a Coffee Break on the Road this month with Mark Mallman. Jill and Steve will also be there with treats from Peace Coffee and Birchwood Cafe. Email for your chance to win: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org
