When Bob Dylan released "Full Moon & Empty Arms," a rendition of a 1945 song previously best-known in a performance by Frank Sinatra, in May, his representative told Rolling Stone that the track would appear on a new studio album forthcoming this year. An ad inserted into advance copies of Dylan's release The Basement Tapes Complete—the latest installment of his "Bootleg Series," available to the public this coming Tuesday—confirms (again according to Rolling Stone) that the album is indeed forthcoming under the expected title, Shadows in the Night, but that it will now be released in 2015 instead of 2014. No other details on the new album are yet official—but Billboard is reporting that a trusted source confirms the album will consist entirely of Frank Sinatra covers.

Dylan is coming to the Orpheum Theatre for three shows this week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. In anticipation of those shows, we made Dylan our Local Current Artist of the Month for October, and over the course of last month our staff reviewed every one of Dylan's studio albums released to date.

As Mac Wilson noted in his review of Dylan's most recent album Tempest (2012), though that album sounded like a "career-closer," Dylan denied it would be his last album. Indeed, it won't be.
