The Raveonettes Wishing You a Rave Christmas

We're just a couple weeks out from the holidays now, and if you're like most, you've already hit capacity on hearing the same seasonal songs year after year (though I will give a pass to Wham's "Last Christmas").

On that note, here are ten nice alternatives to the norm. So pull up those red-and-green socks, put another log on the fire, and best of luck explaining to Grandma what a Cocteau Twin is.

With holiday tunes come year-end lists. He's made a list and checked it twice! Here are Jake Rudh's top 10 songs of 2014.

Cocteau Twins - Frosty the Snowman

Galaxie 500 - Listen the Snow Is Falling

XTC - Thanks For Christmas

Belle & Sebastian - O Little Town of Bethlehem

The Raveonettes - The Christmas Song

The Bird and the Bee - Carol of the Bells

Au Revoir Simone - Fallen Snow

Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)

Love and Rockets - Holiday on the Moon

… And a song only released days ago:

Dum Dum Girls - On Christmas
