MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jade to talk about a new film written, directed by and starring Chris Rock.

In Top Five Rock plays Andre Allen, a comedic actor who has enjoyed a successful career as a funnyman, but now wants to be taken seriously in his career. He's also a recovering alcoholic, and wants to remain sober. Allen's encounter with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) forces him to look deeply at his life and his career.

The title is a reference to the characters in the film listing their top five rap artists of all time. The cast also includes Cedric the Entertainer, Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live), Kevin Hart, J.B. Smoove and Tracy Morgan.

Stephanie says the film looks at such themes as reality TV, addiction, career choices and relationships. "This is a movie about a grown man facing a real crisis that real adults face," Stephanie says. "It's so much fun — and raunchy."

Listen to the audio above to hear the complete review. Top Five is rated R and is playing at theaters everywhere.
