About London Beat

The Current's Mark Wheat has your all-access pass for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London. Guests will get to hang out all week with Mark and Minnesota's powerhouse Dessa as she launches her 2015 European tour. You'll see her first show at the Old Blue Last, a legendary pub that has built a reputation for launching some of the biggest names in the music business including Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Sons and the Drums.

You'll get VIP tours of the BBC and the Tate Museum and visit the homes, haunts, studios, pubs and clubs of rock 'n' roll legends. The group will go record shopping at Mark Wheat's favorite record store, Rough Trade, where Mark is keeping his eye on bands' Twitter accounts for any hints of surprise in-store sets. NO CONTRIBUTION OR PURCHASE IS NECESSARY -- MAKING A CONTRIBUTION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS GIVEAWAY

HOW TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY: No contribution or purchase is necessary. To enter the "London Beat" Giveaway (the "Giveaway"), a participant must do one of the following:

(a) complete the online entry form. Entry must be received between 12:01 a.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 and 11:59 p.m. CT on Jan. 31, 2015.
(b) be a tenth caller after The Current plays "London Calling" by The Clash twice in a row.

Limit one (1) online entry per person. No limit on the number of attempts to be the tenth caller. If Entrant is selected as a tenth caller, then (a) that Entrant may not be selected as the tenth caller again the next time that The Current plays "London Calling" by The Clash twice in a row and (b) that Entrant's name will be removed from the online entries prior to the drawing of a winner in the qualifying round (see "Selection and Notification of Prize Winners").

Incomplete entries or entries submitted by other means will not be considered.

SPONSOR has sole responsibility for determining if an entry has been successfully submitted. Any entry that is not in compliance with these Official Rules may be disqualified, at the sole discretion of the SPONSOR. Void where prohibited by law.

ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of any one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. THIS GIVEAWAY IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY. DO NOT ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY UNLESS YOU ARE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.
The following persons are not eligible for the Giveaway:

• Persons who were employees of Sponsor or its related organizations (including American Public Media) at any time during the eight (8) months prior to the start of the Giveaway ('Former Employees").

• Other persons described in the entry instructions for this Giveaway.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF PRIZE WINNERS:

Every eligible entry will be included in the Giveaway.

The Giveaway will have two rounds of winners:

In the qualifying round, Sponsor will select a total of ten (10) qualifying round winners: nine (9) qualifying winners will be selected by being the tenth caller after The Current plays "London Calling" by The Clash twice in a row and one (1) qualifying round winner (and three back up winners) will be randomly selected from the online entries (excluding any online entries from persons who have been a tenth caller). All qualifying round winners will be selected by Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.

In the final round, Sponsor will randomly draw one (1) name of the Grand Prize winner and three (3) back up names from all qualifying round winners. The final round Grand Prize winner will be selected by Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.

In either round, if Sponsor is unable to reach a winner or a winner is unable to accept the prize within the time period specified on the online entry form, then that unawarded prize will go to the first available back up thereof until the prize is awarded. The rules detailing giveaway eligibility and method of selecting winners are on file at Sponsor's offices. The chances of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries.

PRIZES:

Qualifying Round Prize: A total of ten winners will be selected in the Qualifying Round. Each will receive a prize package of a collection of CDs, T-shirts, and other THE CURRENT branded items. Retail value: $50.00 per prize

Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive airfare (Sponsor's choice of carrier) and a tour package for two (winner plus one guest) on the Public Radio Custom Travel "London Beat with Mark Wheat and Dessa" tour from April 19-27, 2015. Taxes and expenses as a result of winning this prize are the responsibility of the winner. Prize is nontransferable. Winner will receive delivery of the prize as arranged by Sponsor. All participation subject to cruise-related policies of tour provider and Sponsor. Prize excludes any and all other expenses associated with the use of the prize package not listed above, including but not limited to extra meals, parking, gratuities, room service, personal charges, and any other incidental expenses. Prize use is the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize cannot be exchanged or scheduled for alternate dates.

GENERAL: By participating in the above Giveaway, participants agree that he/she is bound by the Official Rules and that Sponsor and related organizations, their agents and employees have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind which result from use of the prize, or by participation in the giveaway.
