Last night at the Oscars, Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne took home the trophies for Best Actress and Best Actor — Moore for her performance as a 50-year-old with early onset Alzheimer's in Still Alice and Redmayne for his portrayal of a young Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

Coincidentally, Moore and Redmayne both have a ruddy complexion and ginger hair; as such, the Oscars proved to be a big night for redheads.

And that's why for today's Coffee Break, we'd like to continue the celebration by recognizing those redheads in the world of rock. What songs would you like to hear from musicians who have red hair? Send us your request.

Songs Played

The New Pornographers - "Brill Bruisers"

Tori Amos - "God"

David Bowie - "Suffragette City"

Florence and the Machine - "What Kind of Man"

Willie Nelson - "Touch Me"

Jenny Lewis - "Just One of the Guys"

Do you deserve a Coffee Break? Jill and Steve think you do and want to bring treats from Gigi's Café to your workplace. You'll also be treated to the music of local singer-songwriter Chris Koza! Send us an email: CoffeeBreak@thecurrent.org.
