Minneapolis stars-on-the-rise Hippo Campus just announced that they've signed with Grand Jury—a move that earned the boys a nod from NME today—and that the respected New York label will re-release their debut EP Bashful Creatures on May 5, 2015. Another EP is also forthcoming, and expected to be released this spring.

The band has ascended quickly here in the Twin Cities, earning high praise for their fiery sets at the Best New Bands showcase and the Current's anniversary show at First Avenue. And it looks like Hippo Campus are in for an even more exciting spring: after opening for Delta Spirit at Aria on March 12, they'll hit the road to play high-profile SXSW gigs for the AV Club and C3 and then head out on a national tour with the Mowgli's and Fences, stopping back in Minneapolis April 3 to play the Varsity.
