Tickle Torture performs live in The Current studio
by David Campbell, Leah Garaas and Tickle Torture
March 02, 2015
Currently working on his follow up to the successful Spectrophilia EP, Tickle Torture's Elliot Kozel and company—Aaron Baum (synths), Darin Dahlmeier (guitar), Andrew Thornbrough (drums) and Trevor Peterson (bass)—stopped by The Current studio to perform new and old material and to chat with the 's host David Campbell.
Tickle Torture came out of sexual frustration, listening to KMOJ and noise shows. In an recent interview, Elliot Kozel's describes Tickle Torture's sound: "It's like if Prince and Justin Timberlake were [having sex] in a dumpster." And the visual component of a Tickle Torture show only adds to the music. Inspired by the glam-rock aesthetic, the many on-stage dancers are covered in gold glitter, adorned in headdresses and shoot confetti canons (plus there's the occasional—and mostly accidental—genital slip).
Tickle Torture performs at the Get Cryphy Seven Year Anniversary on Saturday, March 14 at First Avenue and headlines the Memory Lanes Block Party on Saturday, May 23.
