As SXSW you expect to see just about anything — except, maybe, an Oscar-winner. Ryan Bingham shared the 2010 Academy Award for Best Original Song with T Bone Burnett for "The Weary Kind" from Crazy Heart.

Though he's done other work for screen — most recently the song "Until I'm One With You" from the FX series The Bridge — Bingham mostly keeps busy touring and making records, including his brand-new fifth studio album Fear and Saturday Night.

Though he's had dark times in recent years, including the deaths of both his parents, 2015 finds Bingham — who's expecting his first child, with his wife, this summer — buoyant and at his best.

Songs Performed

"Adventures of You and Me"
"Broken Heart Tattoos"
"Nobody Knows My Trouble"
"Radio"
"Snow Falls in June"
"The Weary Kind"
"Top Shelf Drug"
"Hands of Time"
