Every Tuesday at 7:30am Wits host John Moe stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Technology.

This week, John Moe chatted with The Morning Show's Jill Riley about Meerkat, a new Twitter-based, live-streaming video app. John also talks about some light-hearted Internet fun: The Peanuts gang covering classic-rock tunes.

1. Meerkat

Back in 2007, coming out of SXSW, everyone was talking about Twitter and how it was going to be the next big thing. Twitter lived up to the hype, but there hasn't been such a life-changing application since. Now there's Meerkat, which is a Twitter-based live-video streaming service. We're trying to figure out how best to use Meerkat; it may not be best for live music or sports, but for speeches, comedians and author events, it could be quite useful.

2. The Peanuts gang's musical chops

Some light-hearted Internet fun: YouTube user Garren Lazar, aka Super G, has created a number of videos of the Peanuts gang covering a classic-rock tunes, including a Peanuts version of Heart's "Barracuda."

John Moe hosts Wits at the Fitzgerald Theater. Check out video, photos and archived audio from previous shows and buy tickets for the current season at the Wits page. He also hosts the Home Dunk podcast from Infinite Guest.
