While some people consider being tall an evolutionary and social advantage — not to mention a plus at concerts — a recent article in The Atlantic explored the health-related virtues of being short. The article cited several studies that show a lower rate of cardiac diseases and cancers in shorter people. Most notably, The Atlantic pointed out how the people of Japan's Okinawan islands — where the average man stands 4'9" — live the longest lives in the world.

Reading this article inspired us to celebrate short musicians today. These artists may cut an imposing figure on stage, but it's fair to say they won't be selected in the NBA draft any time soon. It's their music that matters.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs would you like to hear by musicians who are short on height but long on talent? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Little Man - "Face"
Lily Allen - "Not Fair"
Paul Simon - "Me and Julio Down by the School Yard"
Prince - "Laydown"
Dolly Parton - "Jolene"
Cee Lo - "It's OK"
