This evening is Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman's State of the City speech at the newly opened Concert Hall at Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul. When he stopped into the studio earlier this week to talk with The Current's Morning Show, he said "this isn't your father's State of the City address." He's adding a musical component to the event, to highlight the local music scene in the Twin Cities. Since tonight's event will focus on the state of the city of Saint Paul, let's put together a list of bands that identify their home as (or got their start in) Saint Paul.

Songs Played

Augie Garcia - "Let the Good Times Roll"
Husker Du - "I Apologize"
Heiruspecs - "5ves"
Superhopper - "It's Alright, It's OK"
deM AtlaS - "All We Got"
Vixen - "Edge of a Broken Heart"
Walt Mink - "Smoothing the Ride"
