Besides writing music, performing across the country AND being a wife and a mom, Dar Williams has been teaching … in her spare time. She's been spending time with high school and middle school students interested in writing songs and books, and teaching a course at Wesleyan University on "Music Movements in a Capitalist Democracy".

If that wasn't enough, she has a new album, Emerald, that will be officially released May 5 and she's currently on tour with a date in Minneapolis at the Cedar Cultural Center this Sunday, April 26.

She talked with Radio Heartland's Mike Pengra and featured some tracks from Emerald.
