Cube Critic: 'Hot Pursuit'
by Euan Kerr

Movie Maven and Cube Critic Euan Kerr joins Jill Riley and Sean McPherson (in for Steve Seel) to talk about a new comedy starring Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon, and directed by Anne Fletcher.
Hot Pursuit centers on a by-the-book cop (Witherspoon) who tries to protect a federal witness (Vergara) as they race through Texas, pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
"It's a buddy movie, it's a road movie," Euan says. "There are lots of jokes at each other's expense. They leave almost no opportunity untouched to make fun one of one another."
Euan says that although Hot Pursuit will not be nominated for any Oscars, it's certainly an entertaining summer film. "What is interesting about this movie is that it is pretty much an all-female enterprise," Euan adds. "It's directed by Anne Fletcher and produced by Reeese Witherspoon, who is working very hard to create more movies that have strong female leads in them."
Hot Pursuit is rated PG-13 and is playing at theaters everywhere.
Euan also describes his upcoming trip to Cuba, where he will be reporting on the Minnesota Orchestra as it performs two concerts in Havana. These historic concerts will be broadcast live on Classical MPR on May 15 and 16.
Cube Critics Euan Kerr and Stephanie Curtis join The Current's Morning Show every Friday at 8:30 to talk about the latest film releases.
