9:30 Coffee Break: Songs for Your Head

by Jill Riley and Sean McPherson

Purely coincidentally, today's Morning Show has featured a lot of cranial references. In our discussion about the Random Vinyl pick, we described the Monkees' 1968 film, Head. Later, in a story related to a recent medical study, we talked about headaches, including their possible causes and treatments.

All this noggin talk got us thinking (appropriately enough) about how many songs there are that mention your melon — or, to paraphrase Tom Hanks's character in the film, A League of Their Own, "that lump three feet above your posterior."

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that have the word "head" in the title? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Neutral Milk Hotel "Two-Headed Boy"
Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 "Going Out of my Head"
Tegan and Sara "Back in your Head"
Mates of State "Goods (All in Your Head)"
Nine Inch Nails "Head Like a Hole"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Heads Will Roll"
