Cube Critic: 'Tomorrowland'
May 22, 2015

Cube Critic Stephanie Curtis stops by The Current's Morning Show to talk to Jill Riley and Sean McPherson about a new science-fiction mystery film starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson.
Directed by Brad Bird, Tomorrowland is a science-fiction mystery. The cast also includes Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Thomas Robinson, Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw, Keegan-Michael Key (who has been on Wits) and Judy Greer.
In addition to directing, Bird co-wrote the screenplay with Damon Lindelof (TV's Lost). "It's a completely original story about a young girl who gets a mysterious pin that transports her to another world briefly, and she wonders how to get back there," Stephanie says. "There's a battle going on on Earth … and there's a possibility to save the Earth from climate change and nuclear war and all the mayhem you see on the news, and this girl might have the opportunity to do that."
The end result is a film with a positive message. "I actually liked it a lot," Stephanie says. "It's optimistic, and it's selling optimism.
"It's a fun adventure. It's a family movie that's supposed to be clean and kind of old fashioned."

Tomorrowland is rated PG and is playing at theaters everywhere.
