Cube Critic: 'Jurassic World'
by Euan Kerr
June 12, 2015

Cube Critic Euan Kerr stops by The Current's Morning Show to talk to Jill Riley and Sean McPherson about the next installment in the Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) directs the action-adventure film based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio and BD Wong.
"It's 20 years on, and frankly the folks at the new theme park are trying to forget what happened 20 years ago," Euan explains, "but when you have a lot of dinosaurs living in a theme park, people tend to get chomped!"
Euan says there are two types of people who might go to see Jurassic World: 1) those who want to see people get chomped; and 2) those who want a logical plot.
Sean McPherson went to see the film, too, and since he and Euan fit categories 1 and 2, respectively, they have a good conversation comparing notes about the film.
About director Trevorrow, Euan adds, "His first movie is a beautiful little movie called Safety Not Guaranteed and it's about a guy who credibly builds a time machine. [Trevorrow] actually got this film on the strength of [Safety Not Guaranteed]. It will be interesting to see where his career goes after this."
