Hundreds of communities across the state as well as across the U.S. and Canada will hold National Night Out events tonight. Minneapolis and St. Paul have been holding National Night Out festivities for more than 30 years. Hundreds of neighborhoods in both cities have registered to hold gatherings.

The festivities — often centered on block parties — encourage interaction among neighbors to improve the sense of community and to reduce crime. National Night Out events also give residents a chance to meet police officers in a less intimidating setting.

With all this community gathering going on, let's create a Coffee Break to get us in the spirit of National Night Out, with songs about getting together, creating good vibes, even sharing food … it's really up to you!

So for today's Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that capture the spirit of National Night Out? Send us your requests.
