9:30 Coffee Break: Mountains
by Jill Riley and Sean McPherson
August 31, 2015

The White House has announced that President Obama is changing the name of North America's highest peak. Mt. McKinley — named after William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States — is returning to its traditional Alaska Native name, Denali. Obama will make a public announcement of the name change today in Anchorage, during his three-day visit to Alaska.
This news got us thinking about mountains and their place in music. It turns out there are a lot of songs out there that mention mountains; sometimes it's right in the title.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention "mountain" or "mountains"? Send us your requests.
Songs Played

Loretta Lynn "High on a Mountain Top"
