9:30 Coffee Break: 'Waitress' Songs

Earlier this morning, listener Deb in Rochester, Minn., sent us this email: "Since Annie Clark did her family duty this weekend and was a waitress at her sister's new place, how about a Coffee Break about the under-appreciated waitress?"

What Deb says is true: Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, has been helping her sister, Amy Savoie, at Resident Taquería, the Dallas restaurant Savoie co-runs with her husband, chef Andrew Marc Savoie.

The news first surfaced this weekend, when social media users — who ostensibly enjoy music and Mexican food in equal measure — spotted Clark waiting tables, bussing dishes and other typical restaurant duties. Chef Andrew Marc Savoie confirmed his sister-in-law has been helping out at the family's upstart eatery.

It's really cool that Annie Clark is so supportive of her family — and this merger of the music and restaurant industries naturally brings to mind just how many songs there are that mention "waitress."

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention "waitress"? Send us your requests.
