Friday Five: Greycoats, Prof, Murder Shoes, and more new Minnesota music videos

Happy Friday! There's a chill in the air, there's candy corn sitting untouched in little dishes around the city, and musicians are donning their finest costumes in preparation for one of the most festive live music nights of the year. Here's a look at five of the best music videos to emerge in the scene this week:
Greycoats
It's not every day that a local music video ends up in Architecture MN, but Greycoats chose such a stunning location for their "Cleopatra" video that they managed to do just that. Filmed at architect Ralph Rapson's incredible 1974 "glass cube framed modern retreat," the video is brimming with eye candy for mid-century modern fans. Keep an eye out for a cameo from Haley Bonar, too—and catch Greycoats when they play an album release show for their latest, Adrift, on Saturday, November 21, at Paikka.
Prof
It's about time Prof's DJ Fundo gets a little time in the spotlight. Known up to this point as one-fourth of the powerhouse DJ gang Get Cryphy, Fundo takes center stage as a murderous, boozing drug dealer with a bad temper and a dark secret. NSFW on several levels.

Murder Shoes
I'm loving the sound of this new-ish band, who just wrapped up a Minneseries residency at the Nomad Pub and have a debut full-length out next week. You can stream all of Murder Shoes' new Daydreaming on Bandcamp now.
Bain
Maybe it's just the sound of that jazz trumpet mixed with electro beats, but something about this Bain single, "After," and the nocturnal Minneapolis street scenes remind me an awful lot of the French producer St. Germain (who, coincidentally, just put out his first music in over a decade). Ruben
Garage rockers Ruben just keep getting better and better. Here, the Stillwater bar band teams up with General B and the Wiz to record a new single, "Post Office." Pick it up as a vinyl 7" on November 6, and catch them on November 8 when they wrap up a short regional tour at the Eagles Club 34.
