Today is Election Day in the United States. Although the tension is not as high today as one would find during a Presidential election year, voters across America are heading to the polls to vote in mayoral, city council, school board and other more locally focused elections.

As people exercise their right to vote, we're wondering what songs you'd like to hear on an election day. What are you thinking about as voters head to the polls? What types of songs do you think they'd like to hear? Maybe your song choices are about voting, power, social issues — or maybe something else entirely.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs for Election Day do you want to hear? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Devo "Freedom of Choice"
Patti Smith "People Have the Power"
John Lennon "Power to the People"
Talking Heads "Don't Worry About the Government"
Radiohead "Electioneering"
XTC "The Mayor of Simpleton"
