Eating and Drinking with Solo Vino's Chuck Kanski: Thanksgiving Wine
November 18, 2015
Owner of full service wine shop, Solo Vino, and wine expert for Minnesota Monthly's New Vintage, Chuck Kanski joins the Current's Morning Show to talk about wine trends in Minnesota and around the world.
Next week is Thanksgiving, and many people will be looking to find a good wine pairing with turkey. Wine expert Chuck Kanski visits The Current's Morning Show to talk about wines that will go well on your Thanksgiving table.
"Thankgiving is a really great holiday for us wine people because we pretty much know what you'll be serving," Chuck says. "That really does help us out, because we know where to best direct you as far as something that goes with poultry, with turkey."
This year, Chuck suggests a couple wines from Italy: the Scaia Garganega/Chardonnay and the Scaia Corvina.
About the white, the Scaia Garganega/Chardonnay, Chuck says, "The other thing that you really have to think about with Thanksgiving, ... you have a pretty good crowd. What I like about the Scaia is that it's a fantastic blend, it really does touch a lot of different fruit profiles."
About the Corvina, Chuck says: "The thing about he red-wine drinking community is they're really specific; they'll drink red wine regardless of the meal choice. So we're helping the red-wine community out by making a choice of something that's a little more subtle, a little lighter."
Chuck says Scaia wines are available at these area sellers:
