Echoing the release of 2013's The Next Day, David Bowie is planning on releasing new music on his birthday in 2016. On January 8, Bowie will turn 69 years old, and will release his new album, ★ (pronounced "Blackstar").

The music has been teased in the credits for the show The Last Panthers, which is helmed by commercial and music video directory Johan Renck.
