9:30 Coffee Break: Non-carol holiday songs
by Anna Reed
December 04, 2015

Morning Show host Jade (in for Jill Riley) says when the New Standards holiday show is upon us, it's the official start to the holiday season.
Whatever gets you in the mood – Thanksgiving coming and going, snow falling on Minnesota, decorating your house or dusting off your favorite pair of winter boots, we want you to get into a holiday mood this morning.
So for today's Coffee Break, what songs about the holidays do you want to hear that are not technically carols?
Share your ideas below, and while you're at it, tune in to Wonderground Radio which flips to all holiday songs next week, and keep your ears open for new original holiday music by Dan Wilson on the airwaves.
Songs Played
Fleet Foxes "White Winter Hymnal"
Tom Waits "Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis"
Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings "8 Days Of Hannukah"
Joni Mitchell "River"
The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"
Nick Lowe "Christmas at the Airport"
Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring treats from Black: Coffee and Waffle Bar to your workplace. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break - or request your own idea for a future topic.
