9:30 Coffee Break: Songs that feature letter writing
by Anna Reed
December 09, 2015

This Monday was Letter Writing Day – a reminder of more simple times when people would put pen to paper to communicate, rather than sending a text, or tweet, or Facebook message.
In honor of this day and in remembrance of a method of communication that for some that is falling by the wayside faster than calculators and movie projectors, we want you to think about this topic in a musical way.
For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that feature writing or receiving a letter?
Share your ideas below, or bonus – see if you can get a hand-written letter with your song ideas in to the studio by 9:30 a.m.
Songs Played
Elvis Presley "Return To Sender"
XTC "Dear God"
Beirut "Postcards From Italy"
Shuggie Otis "Strawberry Letter 23"
The Replacements "Can't Hardly Wait"
Neko Case "Train to Kansas City"
Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring treats from Black: Coffee and Waffle Bar to your workplace. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break - or request your own idea for a future topic.
