9:30 Coffee Break: Culinary companions
by Anna Reed
December 14, 2015

A new study by Charles Spence at the University of Oxford explored what genres of music best compliment different types of food, thus making the food taste better.
The study found that Bruce Springsteen, The Who, The Killers and Arctic Monkeys made Indian food even spicier. Classical music heightened the experience of Italian food. Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran are apparently best suitable for Chinese food. And in a shocking turn of events, Justin Bieber's "Baby" made food taste the worst.
For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, we'd like to issue you a challenge. Come up with the best songs to compliment the following three dishes:
1. Granola and yogurt
2. Club sandwich with a dill pickle spear and kettle chips
3. Steak dinner with red wine
And don't forget to indicate which meal goes with which suggestion.
Songs Played
Grizzly Bear "Two Weeks"
Wilco "Can't Stand It"
Grover Washington & Bill Withers "Just The Two Of Us"
Ani DiFranco "32 Flavors"
The Go Go's "We Got the Beat"
Barry White "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe"
