Heavy Table food editor James Norton joins the Current's Morning Show to talk about the local food scene.
Today on The Morning Show's Eating and Drinking, James Norton chatted with Jade and Sean McPherson about authenticity in the local food scene.
"I feel like you start talking about restaurants and you hear the word authenticity and there's just almost like a one-to-one on people's mind," James says. "Authentic equals good."
James says this is a shortcut to a concept of quality.
SotaRol, for example, is Japanese food combined with burritos with a Minnesota twist.
"It's completely irreverent," James says. "There's no sort of pomp and circumstance about it."
