The Cactus Blossoms: You’re Dreaming

The Cactus Blossoms’ first studio LP, You're Dreaming, will be out Friday, and the harmonizing duo will be at The Current's 11th Birthday Party this coming Saturday, Jan. 23. The brothers are still thriving with swinging vintage-style country tracks that are foot-tapping beauties. Check out “Traveler’s Paradise,” above. The Blossoms will also be headed out on a tour that moves onto Milwaukee after a pair of Turf Club release shows in February.
Straya: I Don’t Know What Anyone is Talking About Anymore

Straya has generally been boxed in by the descriptor math-rock, but via Facebook they've described their genre as “progressive post-hardcore angry tame impala // music to hate your friends to.” Now that it's cleared up, Straya are releasing their newest EP I Don’t Know What Anyone is Talking About Anymore at the Kitty Cat Klub on Thursday. Maeth and Strange Relations will be there as well.
Astrobeard: Astrobeard

Do you miss the British Invasion? Astrobeard has your back. The four-piece Brit-pop crew formed in 2014, and their debut self-titled LP has been online for sometime now. Nevertheless, they're coming to the Amsterdam on Thursday for the release show. The Garage Orphans will be joining them.
City of Sound: 12” Rebirth EP

City of Sound have been laying low for a while, and their Bandcamp has a new release gracing the page. Rebirth is six tracks showcasing City of Sound’s straightforward approach to their modern rock & roll. “Sandinsista” is the best jump into what City of Sound has to offer on this record. They will be the the 7th Street Entry to release the record Friday.
