From MPR News: A plant famous for smelling like rotting flesh is expected to bloom for the first time in seven years this week at the University of Minnesota.

Exciting!

In honor of the rare "Corpse Flower" set to bloom at the U of M this week, let's hear your suggestions for songs whose lyrics reference flowers and plants for today's 9:30 Coffee Break.

And thanks to Bob for today's theme idea.

Songs played

Dead Flowers - Rolling Stones
Buttercup - Lucinda Williams
Violet - Jeremy Messersmith
Blue Orchid - White Stripes
Crimson and Clover - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Push the Little Daisies - Ween

Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring coffee and treats from Peace Coffee and Glam Doll Donuts to your workplace. In addition, we'll bring along local band Little Fevers to perform a couple of songs for you and your coworkers. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break - or request your own idea for a future topic.
