Coffee Break: Benevolence
by Anna Reed
February 24, 2016
For people that have enough mugs and tote bags at home to carry things and drink coffee forever, today's membership thank you gift is to provide meals for people who need them.
Support The Current at any level and you can provide meals for neighbors in need in partnership with Second Harvest Heartland. And today only – the number of meals you provide is doubled.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, let's listen to songs that feature benevolence.
Whether it's donating money or time, tutoring children or helping old ladies cross the street, help us find songs that reference the inclination to be kind to others.
Songs played
Lean on Me - Bill Withers
Hold on Hope - Guided By Voices
Feed The Tree - Belly
Give it Away - Andrew Bird
Come Together - The Beatles
Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring coffee and treats from Peace Coffee and Glam Doll Donuts to your workplace. In addition, we'll bring along local artist Eric Mayson to perform a couple of songs for you and your coworkers. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break - or request your own idea for a future topic.
