Coffee Break: Actors turned musicians
by Anna Reed
July 18, 2016

For today's Vinyl Tap, we played a rousing ditty from The New World of Leonard Nimoy.
The song "The Sun Will Rise" is not a one off attempt from Nimoy, best known for his role as Mr. Spock of the Star Trek franchise. Rather it's off his fifth album. That's right. You read that correctly. FIFTH.
Nimoy and his five albums got us thinking about actors that take it upon themselves to try their hand at music.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear by actors turned musicians?
Songs played
Just One Of The Guys - Jenny Lewis
(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone - The Monkees
Tribute - Tenacious D
3005 - Childish Gambino
West Coast - Coconut Records
Common People - William Shatner
Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? - She and Him
Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at Oake & Riley think you do, and we want to bring coffee and treats from Gigi's Cafe to your workplace. In addition, we'll bring along local artist Chris Koza to perform a couple of songs for you and your coworkers. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break - or request your own idea for a future topic.
And if you'd like a song played just for you based on your life experience, request a song for Rx Radio.
