On Friday, vinyl fans across the country will roll off their couches and head out to their local retailers for Record Store Day Black Friday. Exclusive vinyl releases from artists including Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and the Bangles will be available at your favorite local record retailer — here's the complete list of this year's offerings.

If you're new to vinyl — or even if you have a few records under your belt — you might want to check out a new book by Jenna Miles, co-owner of the Vinyl Collective news site and record lovers' community.

The Beginner's Guide to Vinyl covers topics including the history of records, the nuts and bolts of turntables, how and where to buy records, and how to clean and store them. It's now available to order directly from the publisher, and it will be available in other retailers next month.
