Yesterday was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, marking the birthday of the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement.
Dr. King stood for the advancement of civil rights by protesting racial discrimination, using nonviolent civil disobedience and leading peaceful protests. He believed in peace, equality and justice.
