Coffee Break: Lyrical cliches
by Anna Reed
January 25, 2017

What is a cliché? It's a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.
Some examples are: "in the nick of time", "a diamond in the rough", "scared out of my wits", "every cloud has a silver lining" and "dance like no one is watching". So we're not looking for songs that are clichés themselves, but rather employ the use of a cliché in the lyrics.
So for today's Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that use lyrical clichés?
Thanks to Assistant Program Director Lindsay Kimball for today's theme!
