Coffee Break: "Mary" songs
by Anna Reed
January 26, 2017

Mary Tyler Moore, star of the 1970's "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", has died at age 80. The 7-time Emmmy award winner and Oscar nominee started out her career on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" in 1961 and received the Screen Actors Guild's lifetime achievement award in 2012.
A bronze statue of her character throwing her hat up into the air, like in the opening of the "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", can be seen in downtown Minneapolis, usually on Nicollet Mall at the corner of 7th Avenue, or in the Minneapolis Visitor Information Center down the street if there is construction.
Having depicted one of the first career-woman characters to star in a sitcom, Mary Tyler Moore deserves only the best for today's Coffee Break. So what songs do you want to hear that mention a "Mary" in the lyrics?
