The Current is headed to SXSW! Whether you're planning to be in Austin for the massive music festival or see what bands stand out from home, there are plenty of ways to connect with The Current and discover great new music.

The Current has teamed up with Noisetrade for a four-day party at the annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. It's all going down March 14 to 17 at the Blackheart on bustling Rainey St. Many thanks to our sponsors CLIF Bar and Frye!

More than 45 acts will perform across four days on two stages including British psych-rockers Temples, rising act Chicano Batman, New Orleans' Hurray for the Riff Raff, Vampire Weekend spinoff Dams of the West, rock 'n' roll from Ron Gallo, Nickle Creek fiddler Sara Watkins, Minnesota's Jeremy Messersmith and many more. Find the full lineup below, and be sure to RSVP to keep your busy SXSW schedule in check with pertinent day-of info.

Our public radio comrades NPR Music will take over Stubb's outdoor stage on Wednesday, March 15 with performances by the New Pornographers, Big Thief, Lizzo, Sylvan Esso, Hurray for the Riff Raff and PWR BTTM.

This showcase is open to SXSW Music and Platinum badges and general admission wristbands. Single tickets for this showcase will be for sale at the venue.

Radio Day Stage Presented by VuHaus

March 17

It's a tradition for The Current to collaborate with New York's WFUV, Seattle's KEXP, KXT in Dallas and KUTX in Austin for a massive radio day stage at the Austin Convention Center, South By's hub.

This year's lineup features Minnesota's Hippo Campus (12 p.m.) and Lizzo (1 p.m.) along with rising act Chicano Batman (2 p.m.), Austin natives Spoon (3 p.m.), Valerie June (4 p.m.) and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears (5 p.m.).

If you can't be there, never fear: The Current is thrilled to have VuHaus on board to host a video stream of entire showcase live online.

This showcase is open to SXSW Music and Platinum badges and general admission wristbands. Single tickets for this showcase will be for sale at the venue.
