Today, the first solar eclipse to go across the U.S. since 1979 will be visible on a path from Oregon to South Carolina, and the rest of the country will get a glimpse of a partial eclipse. In the midwest, the eclipse will be happening between 11:45 am and 1:45 pm, with the peak of the solar eclipse being at 1:06 p.m.

To read more about the eclipse, head on over to Brains On, an awesome science podcast for kids made right here at American Public Media.
