Music News: Jessi Zazu of Those Darlins dies at 28

Singer-songwriter Jessi Zazu of indie rock band Those Darlins has died at age 28, after being diagnosed last year with cervical cancer. According to The Tennesseean, Zazu died in Nashville "surrounded by family, friends and fellow musicians who lined the waiting room inside Centennial Hospital's intensive care unit."

"I don't know what lays in store, but I ain't afraid anymore," Zazu said when she announced her diagnosis. "Yes, I guess I am a mystic mind after all." (Spin)

Tegan and Sara announce Con cover artists

Tegan and Sara announced earlier this year that they would be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their beloved album The Con by releasing a new album on which other artists cover the songs from that LP, with proceeds going to charity. A tracklist for The Con X: Covers has now been announced, along with a release date: Oct. 20 digitally, with a vinyl release to follow in December. (Stereogum)

Summon Gene Simmons for 50k

Count on Gene Simmons to take the deluxe box set concept to new extremes. The Vault, a ten-disc set collecting Simmons's solo career, includes 150 unreleased tracks. Wayne cast in Bohemian Rhapsody

The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has reportedly cast the actor who helped make the title song a worldwide hit in 1992, 17 years after its initial release. Mike Myers, who threatened to quit Wayne's World unless they got the rights to use "Bohemian Rhapsody," is rumored to be playing an unknown role in the new movie, which is now filming and will be released next year.
