J. Roddy Walston and the Business have been a band since 2002, but it was the success of their third studio album, 2013's Essential Tremors, that took the band to the next level. They toured incessantly for a few years in support of that release … and afterwards, they just needed a break from being creative. "We call it a 'factory reset'," Walston says.

When the creativity started flowing again, J. Roddy Walston and the Business put together what has become Destroyers Of The Soft Life, a new full-length that will release on Sept. 29 on ATO Records.

In town to play a show in the First Avenue Mainroom, J. Roddy Walston and the Business stopped at The Current to play songs from their forthcoming record and to chat with host Mark Wheat.
