Have you heard of Nezi Momodu, the Queen of Snatching Edges (if you don't know what edges are, take a minute to Google it and meet me back here), Champion of the Texas Tech 90s Cypher, pioneer of #FireSquadChallenge?

Ring a bell?

If yes, I see you've been keeping current with the culture. If no, let me introduce you to Nezi Momodu — she's a D-Town (Dallas, Texas) native of Nigerian descent, who's been snatching edges with cyphers such as this one:

…and, I can't forget this one, either:

Feel free to catch a breath, maybe get a drink of water or something, because Nezi went in harder than sweet-lemon iced tea with two ice cubes on a hot summer day — in other words, she was FIRE!

Earlier this summer, Nezi started a hashtag on Twitter, #FireSquadChallenge, where she challenged female MCs to spit their hottest bars to J. Cole's "Fire Squad." Via Tumblr, she gave the following callout: "Can all female MCs eat this beat and show the world how we do?" as she kicked things off with this freestyle.

Twitter, particularly Black Twitter, showed out, and soon her mentions were filled with a hundreds of MCs, women and men alike, answering the call. Capitalizing off the #FireSquadChallenge success, Nezi later announced that she was working on her first album.

The album, titled Seasons, just dropped this week, answering cries from her followers, who, like me, have been anxiously waiting to see how the Queen of Snatching Edges would sound on an extended project.

Nezi is a rap prodigy (yeah, I said it) and she has been putting on for folks who have been missing the old-school Hip Hop vibe, which has been getting drowned out by the abundance of trap artists in Hip Hop. If you listened to the above clips, you'll have noticed that she's witty with her lyricism, strong with her delivery, and quick to thunder home a punchline, electrifying the crowd in the process.

All 22,000 of Nezi's Twitter followers — myself included — are about to retreat to our safe zones to give Seasons the listening it merits. If you don't hear back from a loved one within 24 hours, please be sure to check in, as the album could be a little too hot for some handle. Seriously.

Before I cue for exit, lemme bless you with a single off the album, "Grapevine," where Nezi fires a series of shots at critics who talked down on her name:

Much love, Jeff.
